PI Dr. Zhanrong GUO -- Coastal Hydrogeology Group

The research group of coastal hydrogeology is led by Pro. Zhanrong GUO; PhD students included are: Bo Wang, Feng Pan; Master students: Zhiwei Li , Zhenjie Zhuang, Yu Cai.

Research Interests

  • Tracing submarine groundwater discharge(SGD) and apparent ages of coastal water using Ra and Rn isotopes

  • Submarine groundwater discharge and associated hydrogeochemical processes

  • SGD-derived dissolved substances to the coastal ocean

  • Impacts of submarine groundwater discharge on the ecological environment of coastal ocean

  • Using the method of Diffusive Gradients in Thin Films(DGT) to study the bio-geochemical processes of P, Fe and S elements at the interface of sediment and pore water in the muddy coastal zone

  • Tracing the origin and hydrological cycle of groundwater using hydrogen and oxygen stable isotopes

  • The cause of formation for the submarine spring

  • Seawater intrusion in the coastal aquifers
