Research Interests

  • Palaeoceanography/-climatology (tropical climate change; Austral-Asian palaeomonsoon; external and internal influences on the Earth’s climate system);
  • Reconstructing variations in water mass conditions in the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific;
  • Sedimentary processes in siliciclastic environments with special emphasis on the understanding of climate and oceanic related processes controlling sediment supply across ocean margins;
  • Ecology, trace element and isotopic composition of planktonic foraminifera.
